Alternative Data Insights rooted in Rigorous Data Science
KASPR Datahaus’ technology emerged out of a multi-year academic research project at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. In this project, the founders of KASPR Datahaus have pioneered research on the use of online/offline activity of the entire internet to infer human behaviour by compiling and analysing an internet activity and location dataset of an unparalleled scope and accuracy drawn from over a trillion observations of end-user internet connections.
This novel dataset has allowed us to measure, among other things, the diffusion speed of the Internet around the world using actual end-user IP connections rather than survey based data.
Translating Academic Research into Commercial Applications
KASPR Datahaus PTY LTD has been established to translate the insights from this pioneering research into commercial data products and services.
We have developed a method to scan, aggregate, analyse and visualise the number and latency of very large numbers (up to millions or billions) of internet-connected (‘online’) Internet Protocol addresses at a given location (e.g. city, district, state or country) and time (e.g. 1min, 15min, hourly, yearly).
KASPR Datahaus uses this method and combines it with other spatially identified data-sets for re-aggregation, re-analysis, and visualisation, and, a sampling methodology which produces scientifically valid insights from these data.
The resulting alternative data products and services can help decision makers in industry and the public sector to gain new insights about human and economic behaviour at an unprecedented scale and degree of granularity.
